Stellar Foundations: At Home in the Stars

There is a whole universe of stars out there— but where do you start?
The fixed stars are a rich, enchanting branch of astrology. They take us beyond the mundane, earth-bound limits of the natal chart and into a world of myth, poetry and magic.
They are less concerned with technicals, with good or bad and instrad speak in story, revealing the unique, divine path that we all walk.
They are lively, complex beings that *want* to work with us and guide our soul’s journey to powerful effect. Marsilio Ficino says the fixed stars are less like individuals and have magnitude more aligned with whole cities!
But you wouldn’t know it from the available literature out there.
Beyond Bernadette Brady’s Book of Fixed Stars and a handful of lines from traditional texts, there is little fixed star knowledge that goes beyond these bits of text.
Instead, you get the same superficial key words repeated again and again with little to help you gain a firm foundation *or* go as deep on the stars as your intuition suspects you can.
So, maybe you download your fixed star report from Brady or get a list of the major fixed star conjunctions in your chart and find the bits of information on the stars. Maybe some of it hits. But you can’t find anything that takes you deeper.
So, you abandon the stars. How can you take on the hundreds in the sky? Where can you learn more after you’ve exhausted the few sources available?
And thus, you abandon the knowledge of your soulful journey. You miss out on understanding and harnessing your connection to the heavens and the very parts of the universe that give you meaning! You stay stuck on earth, these brilliant beings staying a far-off mystery.
There has to be another way, you think, to get acquainted with the stars.
The truth, of course, is that there are plenty of ways to understand the stars more deeply. If you can trace the history of the stars through different culture, you can collect myths, ancient uses for stars, and symbolic meaning.
Then, of course, comes the oft-neglected ritual side. I truly believe the stars want us to communicate with them ourselves and may have even obscured extant written knowledge on their mysteries so we don’t forget to build our own relationships with the celestial realm. But how do you do that when, again, there is nothing on stellar ritual or magic outside of some talismanic instructions ?
All of this research and gnosis gathering would be so. much. work. even if you did know where to look ot how to start.
It would take years and years to build up your knowledge of even a handful of stars, much less the whole sky.
I would know— I’ve been studying and working with the fixed stars for seven years.
So now, I offer a class that gathers all the information on the fixed stars so you don’t have to.
Since 2019, when a friend first suggested I studied the stars and I first discovered my fixed star connections, I was smitten. They immediately explained things about me that felt so deep and fundamental to my path that nothing else in my natal chart could touch. It felt like the most poetic, spiritual way to describe my life and my journey.
But, like you, I was dissatified with the fixed star texts available once I tore through Brady. Moreover, as a consulting astrologer I felt *embarrassed* at the idea of offering fixed star readings offering only information on the stars that my clients could find themselves if they found the same texts to which I referred.
So, I began to look for myself.
Over the next seven years, I researched, pored over the fixed star texts I slowly accumulated, and gathered all of my findings into essays on the stars (you can find those collected in my Fixed Star Essay Collections Vol. I and Vol. II).
To supplant the few, quality sources I could find, I talked to the stars myself. I stargazed, performed countless rituals with the stars, and verified my gnosis over years of client work and conversations with spiritual friends.
I even wrote a *whole book* on the myth and magic of the fixed stars (coming out with Weiser/Red Wheel in November 2026, pre-order here) that took years of dedicated practice and making room for the stars in my life.
I have my life undoubtedly changed by my devotion to the fixed stars. By building relationships with them and going deep into their lore. They helped me enact my purpose, build my community, fall in love, increase wealth, and most importantly, feel an intimacy and reverence with the divine *and* my own life

This course is for anyone who wants an introductory, yet in-depth, dive into the fixed stars so they can feel comfortable understanding them for themselves as well as incorporating them into their astrological practice.
To begin, we will get into the nitty gritty of:
- Who are the fixed stars?
- What is their role in astrology/ the natal chart?
- How do they manifest and work with the planets?
- How do you measure if a fixed star is in a nativity?
- What are the heliacal rising and setting stars?
- How were the fixed stars used magically and astrologically throughout history?
You will get everything you need to know to understand how the fixed stars uniquely work and how to delineate them in a natal chart.
From there, we will be diving into 15 extra important stars called the Behenians. They are:
- Algol, Eye of Medusa, 26º Taurus
- The Pleiades, the 7 Sisters, 0º Gemini
- Aldebaran, Eye of the Bull, 10º Gemini
- Capella, The Charioteer, 22º Gemini
- Sirius, Major Dog Star, 14º Cancer
- Procyon, Lesser Dog Star, 26º Cancer
- Regulus, Heart of the Lion, 0º Virgo
- Alkaid, Tail of the Bear, 27º Virgo
- Algorab, The Crow, 13º Libra
- Spica, The Maiden’s Sheaf of Wheat, 24º Libra
- Arcturus, The Hunter-Farmer, 24º Libra
- Alphecca, The Flower Crown, 12º Scorpio
- Antares, The Heart of the Scorpio, 10º Sagittarius
- Vega, Orpheus’s Lyre, 15º Capricorn
- Deneb Algedi, Tail of the Sea-Goat, 23º Aquarius
Each star will have its own class where I go over the lore and historical takes on this star, plus my own knowledge that comes from my own research and practice with the star. I will also go over how each star operates when connected to the seven planets and Asc/MC so you can see how a fixed star actually plays out in a nativity.
As I also believe direct contact to be vital for working with the fixed stars, I will also explore unique rituals for each of the 15 and give you everything you need to know to begin a stellar devotional practice (and maybe make some effective magic with the stars <3)
